Angel Harris grew up in a small town in Mississippi. Moving to Oregon in the 8th grade, she began what has become a life-long pursuit in using her natural passions to help build bridges towards racial equity and true community. From serving with the local Corvallis/Albany NAACP to being a small-group leader and facilitator in her church, Angel has over 20 years of experience in helping organizations and teams work together to understand each other and move forward towards lasting unity.

Angel has an incredible gift, she easily and what appears to be effortlessly, presents herself in a way you can and want to connect too. She shares related stories of her lived experience, as mother, as a college student, as a friend… and then she pulls back the curtain and share her experiences as Black woman. As she shares these stories, she reveals the impacts of the privilege of skin tone. I have been working on myself as a white advocate for racial justice for years, but it wasn’t until I met Angel and listened to her story telling and participated in her race, equity, diversity and inclusion trainings and workshops did I really open up to see the truths of systemic racism and the work I needed to do. She has set me on path of continual growth and for that I am forever in her debt.
